1. Purpose and Scope of the Disclosure Text

As Menemen Municipality, we take measures to protect your personal data within the scope of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (“KVKK”). We process your personal data for the reasons and methods explained below, within the scope of KVKK and related legal regulations, and as a "data controller."
The Menemen Municipality Personal Data Processing Disclosure Text (“Disclosure Text”) has been prepared to inform you as transparently as possible about the identity of the data controller, the method and legal reason for collecting your personal data, for what purposes these data will be processed, to whom and for what purposes they may be transferred, the duration of data processing, and your rights listed in Article 11 of KVKK, in accordance with the article titled "Obligation of the Data Controller to Inform" in Article 10 of KVKK. The explanations made in the Disclosure Text for your personal data also cover your special categories of personal data.

3. Method and Legal Reason for Collecting Your Personal Data

Your personal data are processed in line with the purposes stated under the heading "Your Processed Personal Data and Processing Purposes" and within the scope of Article 5, paragraph 1 of KVKK, under the condition of obtaining explicit consent or under the conditions specified in Article 5, paragraph 2, as follows:
3.1. It is necessary to process personal data for the data controller to fulfill its legal obligations,
3.2. It is necessary to process personal data for the establishment, exercise, or protection of a right,
3.3. It is necessary to process personal data for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that it does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the relevant person, and under the conditions specified.

4. Your Processed Personal Data

Your personal data are processed securely and in accordance with KVKK. In this context, the personal data collected are listed in the table.

5. Purposes for Processing Your Collected Personal Data

Your personal data are collected by the Municipality in accordance with the fundamental principles determined by the legislation and the Personal Data Protection Board. Your personal data are processed for the following purposes:
5.1. To enable the necessary work by our relevant business units so that real and/or legal third parties, institutions, and organizations (employees, visitors, suppliers, business partners, etc.) related to the Municipality and/or the centers and units affiliated with the Municipality can benefit from the services,
5.2. To manage the corporate website, the websites established within the scope of the International Menemen Pottery Festival, and the corporate Instagram, Facebook, and similar social media and mobile applications of both Menemen Municipality and the Pottery Festival,
5.3. To verify the identity information of those who transact through our corporate website, the websites established within the scope of the International Menemen Pottery Festival, and mobile applications,
5.4. To ensure the timely and correct conclusion of applications made under the Right to Information Act and the Presidential Communication Center (CİMER) by directing them to the relevant units,
5.5. To establish communication strategies to ensure transparent and fair communication between the Municipality and citizens, and to convey criticisms to the relevant units and prepare measures in terms of public relations,
5.6. To record the address and other necessary information for communication regarding notifications made through websites,
5.7. To perform services within the scope of the duties and responsibilities of the Municipality as specified by the Municipality Law No. 5393 and related legislation,
5.8. To fulfill the legal and regulatory requirements arising from and potentially arising from the Law on Regulating Publications on the Internet and Combating Crimes Committed Through These Publications No. 5651, the State Archive Services Regulation, the Archive Services Regulation, and all relevant laws and secondary regulations, and to take the necessary measures in this regard,
5.9. To carry out auditing and/or regulatory duties by authorized public institutions and organizations,
5.10. To fulfill requests for information and documents from judicial authorities and/or administrative authorities,
5.11. To conduct listing, reporting, verification, and analysis work related to the usage of the services provided in all centers and units affiliated with the Municipality, to produce statistical and scientific information in this regard, to improve our products and services accordingly, to increase satisfaction regarding our products and services, and to make personalizations related to the user within this scope,
5.12. To conduct market research, promotion, and necessary information related to our services, to evaluate complaints and suggestions, and to contact you directly through the communication channels shared with the Municipality,
5.13. To fulfill risk management and quality improvement activities,
5.14. To take all necessary technical and administrative measures for the security of data and systems and applications.

6. To Whom and For What Purpose Your Processed Personal Data May Be Transferred

By ensuring the necessary technical and administrative measures to ensure the appropriate level of security in accordance with KVKK and relevant legislation, your personal data may be transferred to:
6.1. Legally authorized public institutions and organizations within the framework of their requests and for the purpose of such requests,
6.2. The Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, and the Court of Accounts for the purpose of auditing our activities that are of a public service nature according to the relevant legislation,
6.3. Institutions with which we have contractual relationships and/or to which we provide or receive services for the execution of municipal activities within the framework of the laws to which we are subject and for municipal activities, within the scope of personal data processing conditions specified in Article 8 of KVKK.

7. Data Processing and Retention Period

Your personal data will be processed within the limits specified for the purposes stated in this Disclosure Text, in accordance with all relevant laws and legal regulations to which the Municipality and its affiliated centers and units are subject, and in compliance with the data processing and statute of limitations periods. In case of changes in the data processing periods in the laws, the new periods determined will be taken as the basis. Your personal data will be processed within the framework of the principle of limitation by purpose and for the duration required to fulfill the purposes explained in this Disclosure Text, and in accordance with the State Archive Services Legislation, and will be deleted, destroyed, or anonymized at the end of these periods. If you wish to obtain detailed information about the retention periods of your personal data, you can contact us through the addresses specified in the section on the rights of the relevant person or access the retention periods through the Data Controllers Registry to which our institution is registered.

8. Exercising the Rights of the Relevant Person:

The relevant person can exercise their rights under Article 11 of KVKK, which regulates the rights of the relevant person, by applying in writing to the address Camiikebir Mahallesi Şehitkemal Caddesi No:1 Menemen / İzmir or by sending an e-mail to iletisim@menemen.bel.tr provided that the e-mail address is registered in the Municipality’s systems, or by sending a registered electronic mail to menemenbelediye@hs01.kep.tr.
